A Million Small Victories (And One Pair of Gym Pants)
It’s been about nine months since I created the Simplify & Summit™ framework and committed to applying it fully to my life—with 2.5 of those months spent recovering from surgery. In that time, I’ve built We – Community With Purpose, and started laying the foundation for a big surprise I’ll be sharing with you soon.
I’ve always used pieces of this system before, but never with the level of belief, passion, and consistency I now bring to this journey. And today—one of my biggest personal challenges showed signs of transformation.
⸻
💡 Simplify & Summit™ in Action:
• Sustain: Sticking to small daily improvements
• Adapt: Changing how I fuel my body based on how I feel
• On Track: Measuring progress through function and strength, not just metrics
⸻
🧭 The Power of Compounding Small Changes
One of the core tenets of Simplify & Summit is this:
“Small, intentional changes over time create meaningful, sustainable transformation.” What I used to call Kaizen.
I’ve never been a believer in tracking my weight as a primary metric—our bodies are complex, and that number alone doesn’t reflect real progress. But during recovery, I couldn’t ignore the changes. When my clothes stopped fitting and the “roominess” I love disappeared, I knew it was time to notice.
This wasn’t about body image—it was about performance.
It was about returning to the mountains I love without carrying excess weight that makes every climb exponentially harder.
⸻
🌱 What Changed? I didn’t overhaul my habits overnight. I started small:
• One glass of water a day
• Then two
• Then daily green + berry power smoothies
• Then increased protein
• Then workouts
Today, I put on my old gym pants—and they fit. Comfortably.
No more little rolls jumping around during dumbbell side lifts.
And more importantly? My body didn’t get in the way of my movement—it powered it.
⸻
🏋️♀️ Strength Over Shame
There were hard days. Days where I felt discouraged, when I couldn’t complete an exercise because of the way my body blocked itself. But today, I moved freely. I felt strong. For the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel limited.
This isn’t about a number on a scale. It’s about being ready to summit again, physically and mentally.
And it’s one more reason I know Simplify & Summit™ isn’t just a framework for professional success. It’s a life framework.
⸻
I’ll dance a little today—for this milestone and the million other small victories that came before it. And I hope you dance with me. 💃🏻
